KB Arsenal received the status of an Authorized Representative for use of results of space activities in the North-Western Federal District
KB Arsenal has signed an Agreement on co-operation with the Open JSC REKOD (the English for REKOD is RESPA: REsults of SPace Activities) Research and Production Corporation, which is the organization of Roskosmos founded in 2008 for carrying out works in the field of use of results of space activities.
According to the Agreement, KB Arsenal FSUE has become an Authorized Representative of the Open JSC REKOD for use of results of space activities in the North-Western Federal District.
This co-operation is purposed to organize efficient use of results of space activities for the sake of speeding up social end economic development, raising competitive ability and life-saving activity for federal subjects of the North-Western Federal District.
The Agreement provides for quite a number of directions of co-operation, including:
- creation of a Regional System for Earth remote sensing data reception, processing and distribution, as well as a Regional Center for space-based monitoring within the System, and making for them interface with the Federal Systems (Centers) of Earth remote sensing;
- creation of information management systems and other information systems on the basis of use of space-based systems:
o navigational,
o geodetic,
o cartographic,
o meteorological,
o communication,
o management,
o data transmission and retransmission,
o Earth remote sensing,
o monitoring,
o other systems;
- creation, deployment and use of such a base navigational and informational system, which is to provide complex solutions for problems in socio-economical development and life-saving activity using space activities results;
- training for experts in the field of creation and use of results of space activities;
- other directions of co-operation.
