EMG of high efficiency

RocketSmall-sized electromechanical gear (EMG) of high efficiency and space technology requires precise accuracy in mass, dimensional and operational characteristics for electromechanical gears.

FSUE "KB "Arsenal" carried out a great deal of theoretical and experimental works, as a result of which new EMG and reduction gears for space vehicles (SV) and special techniques were created. Recently, a number of Russian and foreign companies created highly effective frameless ac electronic motor (EM) of the new generation, in mass some times smaller than that of the traditional EM. State-of-the-art use of these motors and new technologies of reduction gears developed by KB Arsenal make it possible to create such EMG, which would satisfy to the highest requirement in wide range of types and dimensions.

Tasks:

  • Gearing of great torque under high reduction ratio and efficiency, small mass and dimensions.
  • Operation in considerable range of number of revolutions of output shaft under the condition of high accuracy in positioning and hardness of function-generating mechanism.
  • Operation in space (according to additionally agreed requirements).

Promising trends for application the small-sized electromechanical gear:

  • Units for opening of parts of structure of a SV, orientation of solar batteries, rotating antennas, various onboard equipment;
  • Gears of movers of Planetokhods;
  • Ground-based rotary support;
  • Robotics and manipulators;
  • Servosystems, including these of high precision.

General properties

Small-sized EMG is manufactured on the base of cycloid drive and ac electric motor; both of them are placed in the same frame. Using planetary gear set as the drive, constructed according to k-h-v diagram under the conditions for the ring gear to be manufactured as a set of small units, for the toothing to be high-capacity and for the ac electric motor to be unpackaged with such parameters, which are the most suited for creation of small-sized EMG, as well as application of the new techniques and materials are the ways to reduce considerably mass and dimensions of the EMG.
